Ward Clerk / Admin Assistants

MHSS Ward clerks are competent in effective management of and ensures availability of medical records, laboratory reports, radiological images, and other patient records are properly completed and secured, but readily available to physicians, nurses, and other health care providers.

We believe that this is a critical role in ensuring optimal and safe patient care, enabling medical and nursing staff to do their work efficiently and in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Patient journey is of the highest importance and our ward clerks are used to meeting patients when they first arrive at a clinical unit, receiving their medical records and entering their information into order sheets, medication records, laboratory requests, etc.

Healthcare Assistant

MHSS Healthcare assistants (HCAs) are a vital part of the team that supports the medical staff and patients in wards and departments throughout the hospital.

Under the supervision and direction of qualified nursing staff, healthcare assistants carry out a wide range of duties to care for, support, and provide information to patients and their families.

Healthcare assistants are often the first point of contact for a patient, so all MHSS HCAs are friendly and confident, with good interpersonal skills. Aligned to our company values we expect all MHSS HCAs to be able to put patients at their ease, helping them with their personal care while making sure they feel comfortable.

Nursing Assistant / MH Support Worker

MHSS mental health workers provide therapy, assistance, and basic care to patients that have developmental disabilities or mental illnesses. They monitor their patient’s conditions and assist them with daily activities. They are traditionally part of a nursing team and typically work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. A mental health worker generally works in residential mental health facilities and psychiatric hospitals.

We understand that Mental health is quite a diverse area. As a MHSS mental health support worker, we know our staff could be working with people that have depression, or dementia, an addiction or drug problem. In this particular area, the support worker may sometimes be referred to as an STR worker- “Support, Time and Recovery Worker”.

MHSS Staff  focus is on providing support to the person, giving them  time, and aiding their recovery. Our staff are placed with fully understanding that their duties as a mental health worker could include working alongside a social worker, a psychiatrist, or even a community mental health team. You might find yourself arranging peer support groups for individuals with specific issues and helping health professionals manage a caseload of people with several different mental health problems.

Mental Health Nurse

MHSS RMNs understand their role is to plan and provide support, and medical and nursing care to people who are suffering from mental illness – whether it’s in a hospital, at home, or in other settings. In addition, they’re responsible for building therapeutic relationships with their patients and generally assist them through tough times by enabling them to take control over their health.

As an MHSS RMN, our staff understand they could be working with a wide range of people from different backgrounds, or  could work with one specific group of people; from children and young people to offenders in prison, or people who suffer from specific conditions, such as eating disorders.

All MHSS RMNs have the skills to be able to:

  • Assessing the patients on admission, as well as on a regular basis throughout
  • Developing care plans of nursing care requirements and treatments
  • Building trust and therapeutic relationships with patients
  • Administering medication as prescribed by the doctors
